Owen McDonnell plays Niko, Eve’s (Sandra Oh) husband, in Killing Eve.

Originally from Galway, Ireland, Owen trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama and lives in London.

An accomplished and versatile stage and screen actor, Owen is currently appearing as Quinn Carney in Sam Mendes’ West End production of The Ferryman by Jez Butterworth. Other stage work includes Outside Mullingar for Theatre Royal Bath, Stones in His Pockets and Greta Garbo Came to Donegal for the Tricycle Theatre, Hitchcock Blonde for the Royal Court, Les Liasons Dangereuses for Liverpool Playhouse, Death of a Salesman for Birmingham Rep, and for the National Theatre of Ireland/Abbey; A Doll’s House, The Plough and the Stars, Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme, The Burial at Thebes and Big Maggie.

As well as Killing Eve, his most recent screen appearances for the BBC include Paula (IFTA nominated for best supporting actor) and My Mother and Other Strangers. Other TV credits include Striking Out, Single Handed, An Klondike/Dominion Creek, Mount Pleasant, Spooks, Saving the Titanic, Silent Witness and films include A Terrible Beauty, Wild Decembers, Made in Belfast, Rewind and Swung.
